Description

A beautiful and peaceful hotel in the centre of Cuenca with its own private garden. The design is very tasteful and a large chandelier and fountain dominate the lobby. There is a drawing room upstairs which has its own library. The restaurant is very good.

Accommodation

The 23 rooms are immaculate and well appointed. The colonial rooms are set around the central courtyard/communal area and there are a few rooms in the garden area. The suites are larger and have a separate sitting area.

I think Cuenca was probably our favourite place. Hotel centrally located and great for wandering from (as in Quito) and we enjoyed the calmness of the whole place, as well as visiting the hatmaking factory and the ceramics studio.
