Hacienda Santa Ana
Location
Cotopaxi (Cotopaxi and Papallacta, Ecuador)
Description
A former seventeenth-century Jesuit monastery, just outside the Cotopaxi National Park, the hacienda has been lovingly restored, maintaining much of its original decoration and charm, whilst having a contemporary feel throughout.
The lounge area in the centre of the hacienda has large windows for picturesque views of the gardens and surrounding volcanoes, as well as a large fireplace for keeping guests warm at night.
Activities
The hacienda can organise trekking, riding, biking and zip-lining. It's also worth having a stroll around the beautifully maintained grounds surrounding the hacienda.
Accommodation
Six comfortable bedrooms with large windows letting in plenty of light. Rooms have modern bathrooms and are heated by radiators rather than log fires.
Our comments
Not an authentic hacienda, but comfortable and charming none-the-less.
When to go
All year round. May to October is generally drier.
