Macaw Lodge

Description
A small rainforest lodge set within a 264 acre private reserve of lowland and premontane forests, about an hour inland from Jacó and bordering the Carara National Park. The octacgonal main lodge overlooks a lagoon and has an open-sided restaurant and communal sitting area, with eight rooms upstairs. There are 8 acres of beautifully cultivated gardens with over 500 plant species from around the world attracting an abundance of bird species, insects and wildlife. Walking paths lead around the property and to a waterfall, there is a yoga platform and the lodge also produces its own chocolate.
Activities
Guided walks, bird-watching, cacao tours and yoga. Excursions into the Carara National Park and to the coast can be organised locally.
Accommodation
8 rooms in the main lodge with screened windows, a ceiling fan, private bathroom and solar heated water. There are also four well appointed cabins with a private terrace a short walk from the main building
